We all Know that Barack’s Obama’s Campaign promises “change”. But we all also know that change does not come easily or is it easy to get people to actually want change. In this article we’ll look at some events that could allow Barack Obama to deliver on this “change” he promised:
1. Nuclear War(WWIII)

We all know in times of war, presidents have great power and authority(as demonstrated by Lincoln and Roosevelt). Nothing rallies a country’s people together like a threat from a foreign enemy. If WWIII happened, Obama would be given presidentual war powers and in the aftermath he can ride on those powers to insistute the change he wants. Unfortunately, if Nuclear war did happen, there might not be that many people left for the “change” to benefit. |
2. Uber Depression
![]() |
Just like in war, if the country’s economy goes to hell in a handbasket, the president will be given great powers to institute “change”. Because of the great depression, FDR was able to push through programs such as “The new Deal”(sounds a lot like change, doesn’t it), that he would have otherwise not been able to pass. If another such event such as the great depression were to happen, Obama would have FDR-like powers to push through his agenda of change. The price would be millions suffering from starvation and the economy going down the toilet and probably needing another war to bail us out. |
3. Asteroid Impact

Like man-made disasters, a natural disaster on the scale of a planetary extinction asteroid that killed the dinosaurs would rally everyone together under one leadership. Assuming that the impact didn’t kill everyone instantly and the dust and debris thrown into the air threatened to cause the extinction of all mankind, such an emergency would force people to work together in unity, overcome race and gender issues and adopt the policy of “change”. The small downside is that if this were to happen, there would be severe droughts and famines worldwide and much of the human race would most likely die before we got out of this. |
4. Alien Invasion
![]() |
If a hostile alien race bent on the extinction of all mankind were to invade Earth, people would rally like never before under one leader. Whats more, even after the alien race was forced off the earth, we’d still be more united because humanity would have to realize that threats not only came from our world, but the greatest threat could come from stars above. This would unite humanity like never before and instead of referring to ourselves as “American”, “British”, or “Chinese”, more people would just identify themselves as the sons and daughters of earth. The most likely leader(at least in the spur of the moment) would be the president of the United States and this would allow Obama(if he were elected) to push through his policies of change and unity. The downside is that if an alien race has the technology to travel the vast distances between the stars, they’d probably succeed in wiping us out. |
5. Divine Edict
![]() |
The last way “change” would happen is if the almighty came down himself and told us to adopt the policy of “change” and unity or else …. This would get a lot of people in the United States to at least try to ditch their presumptions about division and race and try to become a more loving people. However, since there are a fair amount of people in this country that are atheists, we would probably fail to meet God’s standard and be smitten by divine wrath. |
So for those of you who are so sold on “change” and “hope”, remember if does not come easily. Are you willing to pay the price?
