What amazes me sometimes is that no matter how bad a certain situation gets, someone, somewhere, always manages to spin it so it looks good.
We all know that if the democrats had decided on a candidate in Feb or March, they could have easily strolled right into the white house without too much trouble, because people are sick of the Bush administration and the republican party. It was a sure-win situation for the Democrats - until the infighting started. We are now in Mid-May and the fighting continues. Although Obama’s in a clear lead, Clinton vows to fight on. This fighting in reality is making people think of the republicans in a much better light than they otherwise would have. The bitterness has been built up deep on both sides. However, Someone actually thinks that the infighting is good and that Clinton should fight on . Now, this is just foolish. The best thing the democratic party could hope for is not Clinton fighting on until the bitter end but that she step down voluntarily and endorse Barack Obama for President. That would go quite a way to unite the party. Knowing Hillary, that won’t happen. To comment more on the article above, if Clinton goes all the way the primaries and loses but the results turn up as expected, it will show that:
1. Obama cannot win working class whites
2. He cannot win Hispanics
Which will hurt his position this November. The best thing for him is for HRC to drop out before the next few states hit the polls as he is expected to lose and lose big in the next few primaries including W. Virginia.
Another thing is if she fights to the end and loses, it won’t help with the bitterness that her supporters feel and it will again hurt the democrats in November. Many of them have said they would go McCain if she doesn’t get the Nod. So, in reality, this nonsense about her helping the democrats by staying in is a bit of hogwash. If they want to win, she has to step down and step down soon. Maybe a solution like this is the answer:
