If Obama manages to win the election to November, he owes his greatest thanks not to his campaign staff, his advisors, his family, or anyone else but he owes his greatest gratitude to president George W. Bush. Bush, more than anyone else, has convinced many people that Obama, and not McCain is the right choice. Its not that Bush actively campaigns and tells people to vote for Obama, its the fact that his idiotic policies make even life-time republicans want to vote for someone else besides a republican. |
I have been an Obama criticizer since the beginning. I am skeptical of what his “change” is and what he wants us to “hope” for. I supported Hillary Clinton in the democratic race and now support John McCain in November but Bush’s latest threat to invade Iran has almost put me over the edge. If there is one thing this guy is good at, its making his opponents look good. Americans are already tired of the war in Iraq, no one wants to fight another one in Iran. Where are you going to get the troops for that? Our forces are already stretched thin enough as it is and no one wants to sign up for the army now-days since we fight all these pointless “wars of freedom” that do little more than get our soldiers killed. Unless you start drafting people(a measure that would never pass in congress), you won’t have the forces necessary to mount another major offensive. I wish McCain would distance himself from Bush more because Bush is making him look like a moron but he for some reason, wishes to stay close to Bush policy. My political compass is reaching a tipping point and if we start sending tanks and troops to Iran, I may switch over and vote for Obama, just to get our troops back. I’m not the only one that feels like this, a vast number of Americans feel the exact same way.
