Most of the conservative circle has already rallied around John McCain, despite their initial misgivings about him. Now, the last of the Hardcore conservative opposition is finally falling into his ranks. The host of the Christian radio show, James Dobson, is now about to jump into the McCain vote. Dobson was once a staunch advocate against McCain but is now seriously considering endorsing him. So, this proves the fallout that McCain has with the republican party is not that severe. Even his harshest critics on the conservative side are rallying to him. Its not all that surprising when you look at their alternative. Obama isn’t quite the conservative and devout Christian that Dobson and company are hoping for either. I think as long as McCain chooses a solid conservative running rate, he’ll lock up these people and convincingly win the evangelical vote. When you consider this factor, Mike Huckabee, would be a fine choice for a running mate. With Huckabee, McCain would have a much more solid lead with the evangelical south and would have an easier time battling Obama in those areas. Romney is probably the favorite for VP at this point, but I wouldn’t count the Huckster out because of stuff like this.

Honestly I think the GOP should save their money and sit this one out until we can actually get someone better in there. I think there is a strategy to putting Obama at the head of the bus for when the country hits the ditch anyway, since McCain won’t be able to offset the economic outlook or downsize government spending ( the war ). The Dems also need to see their man fail to supply solutions, or we’ll have the same tired rhetoric next time. If the pendulum is going to swing left, I’d like to avoid adding momentum by putting McCain in office.
Just to be clear, I do not support Obama. I’ll probably vote for some nutjob, or write in Mickey Mouse, or stay at home. I haven’t decided whether the best way to serve my country is to make no choice or a bad choice.
Conservative christians and southern baptists should not be allowed to hold public office. It’s never what is best for the country, it’s always about god. Sorry buddy, but god doesn’t have to live here everyday… we do. They are extremely radical and completely opposed to change, which this country desperately needs. I’m not exactly an Obama fan, this just really irritates me.
