Girl missing for 5 weeks not reported missing

Missing Kids One girl was missing for five weeks before her grandparents called in worried about the child. Obviously her mom thought she could conduct the investigation herself without any help. She is now being charged with well - not reporting her kid vanishing. This would bring suspicion for anyone because any sane person that is not guilty would report their kid missing. It certainly looks like she abducted, hid, or even killed the girl and is trying to hide it. What else would you not contact the authorities. She also refused to answer questions in regarding where the child was.
